Here is the latest news that you should know:
- the 2011-2012 curling season ended with two exciting Ladder games, an awards ceremony and a great party. A whole bunch of photos taken during the event has been posted on the Archives and Photos page.
- congratulations to Rob Maclean and the rest of his Ladder team (John Burgess, Alan Jones and Dan Beliveau) for winning the 2011-2012 season club championship after defeating Jim Putnam’s team 4-3. John Bradbury and his rink (Jen Baumeister sparing for Joanne Ross, Jason Duhème and Benoît Legault) won the club championship consolation final by beating Matt Stenberg’s team 9-7.
- congratulations to Serge Berubé and his rink (Art Wood, Barbara Mason and Steve Shaw) for winning the Closing Mixed Bonspiel. Mike Normandeau’s rink (Nancy Burgess, Bill Hesketh and Don Planche) won the consolation final in the Closing Mixed.
- congratulations to Peter Mansell and his rink (Richard Bray, Sharlene Dearling and Charles Merulla) for winning the Gray Trophy in the Mixed League. On the last day of the round robin draws they defeated Barbara Mason’s team giving them 12 points and allowing them to overtake Steve Sewell’s team for 1st place in the standings.
- congratulations to Jay de la Durantaye and his rink (Peter Mansell, Benoit Legault and David Singh) for winning the Vice-President Trophy in the House League by stealing the winning point in the 8th end. Wayne Morin and his rink (Laurie Partington, Jon Bazar and Doug Buchanan) won the consolation final.
- the lady curlers from the Hudson Legion Curling Club have been very busy lately winning some impressive trophies. To begin with, the following group of ladies has brought home the Jackson Trophy pictured below:
Lynda Putnam, Nancy Burgess, Meredith Royds, Sherri Pauli, Barb Robinson, Sandy Eades, Barb Mason, Jeannette Albert, Ann Austen, Jen Baumeister, Madeline Carmichael & Marj Connery
In addition, Lynda Putnam, Barb Robinson, Nancy Burgess, Jen Baumeister, Barb Mason and Jeannette Albert competed in a multi game series and they have won the Ted Thompson Silver Tray. The Jackson Trophy is currently on display at the Legion branch while the Ted Thompson Silver Tray and Shield are on their way to our club and will be displayed soon. Congratulations to all the participants.

Bill Driver and his rink which includes Peter Atwood, Bill Hesketh and Mike Devine. They won the playdown to represent the Hudson Legion in the Victoria Jubilee Trophy championship that is part of the Curling Quebec Club Series.
