Congratulations to Rob Maclean and the rest of his team, which included John Burgess, Allan Jones and Dan Belliveau, for winning the Club Championship for the 2012-2013 season. In the final game of the playoffs on Saturday, April 13, they defeated the rink skipped by Jim Putnam by a score of 7-2.

In the final game of the playoffs on Saturday, April 13, they defeated the rink skipped by Jen Marquis (sparing for Greg Wilson) by a score of 9-5.

The following rules will be applied in the Ladder.
- points: for teams in Group “A” - 10 for a win, 6 for a loss, 0 for a default
for teams in Group “B” - 9 for a win, 5 for a loss, 0 for a default
- each game is eight ends long
- in case of a tied game after eight ends, a full extra end must be played to determine the winning team
- a team that does not have a minimum of two of its permanent members will lose by default, as per CCA rules
- if a team does not have at least two of its permanent members the game can be rescheduled but must be completed before the end of the current round
- the top 6 teams in the overall standings at the end of each round will play in Group “A” in the following round. Each team starts a new round with half the points it had in the overall standings at the end of the previous round.
Time Rule
For games that start at 6:50 pm, the 8th end can be started ONLY if the first rock can be delivered before 8:50 pm. If it is later than 8:50 pm and the game is not tied then it is considered complete. If the game is tied then the 8th end is played with only one rock per team (sweeping is permitted and any player can throw the rock).

Here are the schedule and the results for the Ladder championship playoffs. In the preliminary round, the top four teams in the overall standings will get a by and the remaining eight teams will play against each other. The winners in the preliminary round will then face the top four teams in the quarter final games. In each playoff round, the top ranked team plays against the lowest ranked remaining team, the second highest against the second lowest etc.

Cromar vs Maclean in the 1st quarter final game. Steve Cromar’s rink had built up a 5-0 lead after the first three ends and appeared to be in control. Rob Maclean then scored 2 in the 4th and stole 2 points in the 5th and 6th ends to go in front 6-5. In the 7th end, Steve’s team scored 2 to take a 7-6 lead without the hammer coming home. With his last rock in the 8th end, Steve tried a double raised takeout to get Rob’s shot yellow rock out of the rings and force him to draw for one. Unfortunately, his throw was just a bit wide and light and instead of running the yellow guard straight back he pushed it into the rings for 2nd shot and the win to Team Maclean.
